I NEED ANOTHER WAY TO TRAVEL
Just hopping off a train from Milwaukee, I thought about the choice that has to be made when traveling-comfortable or cute? Why not both!
1. A scarf, jacket, or sweater should always be part of an traveling outfit, because the plane, train, or automobile is always bound to be chilly.
2. I will choose pants, capris, or shorts over a skirt or dress because you never know if you'll fall asleep in a weird position, and I think I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Always accessorize: this is the one area that doesn't have to slack off. Your going somewhere new, so show off some personality and style!
This is a good excuse to use your favorite big bag that you bought for the sole purpose of traveling, so break it out and flaunt it!
Above, I'm wearing my favorite pair of jeans, Delia's Morgan Skinny Jeans, that never sag in the butt after a full day of wearing them. A gray jacket that I got at a consignment store than is cotton sweatshirt material, a Nordstrom light weight scarf, and a plain white tee and worn in Sperry's. (I've had these shoes for 8 years, they basically have made a mold to the shape of my foot and could not be anymore comfortable.)To put in a little personality, I kept in simple with a brown leather belt, a ring on each finger, green nail polish, and pearl earrings. Then I top it off with a yellow Tommy Hilfiger Tote.
I NEED ANOTHER WAY TO WEAR MY TWEED SKIRT.
Well,a tweed skirt is a wardrobe essential-Classy, sophisticated, and timeless. So I put together two outfits, one more fun and one more preppy.
#1 I wore to high tea, shopping, dinner, and then out with friends. The boots dress down the outfit and the layers make it more edgy. Navy Satin Blazer from Akira, Gold and white Pashmina, a white Tee from Pink, purple gray and black tweed skirt from Loft, gray bamboo tights from Bass, and Brown leather boots. Then I added some sparkly accessories.
#2 Is perfect for work. Just slightly different from the first outfit...Pairing nude heels with tights make them transition from a shoe that "blends in" to a shoe that "stands out" because the color then pops. The white oxford from Tommy Hilfiger is a classic staple piece and adding in a purple fitted sweater that can bring in some more color is always a good option.
So here we go, piece number 1. I know its geared towards the summer to fall transition, but it's to show an example of the future of the blog...
